Directions

The Neutral Zone is located in downtown Ann Arbor at 310 E. Washington Street, near the intersection of Washington Street and Fifth Avenue. NZ is across the street from the Bank of Ann Arbor and is located within walking distance (two blocks)  from AATA’s Blake Transit Center.

Directions from area high schools:

 

From Huron High School
To get to  Neutral Zone, Huron students would take the AATA Route #3 bus. It picks up at the bus stop across Huron Parkway (on the east side of Huron Pkwy) from the school. Students would have to catch the 2:53 p.m. bus that would arrive at the Blake Transit Center at 3:12 p.m.; or the 3:23 p.m. bus that would arrive at 3:42 p.m. The students would then have to walk two blocks to Neutral Zone. Cost for teens taking an AATA bus is $.75*.

From Pioneer High School:
Pioneer students can take the AATA bus to downtown Ann Arbor from the AATA bus stop on S. Main Street. Take AATA bus route #25 to the Blake Transit Center.  Bus route #25 picks up at the AATA park-n-ride lot (on Main Street in the  Pioneer parking lot)  at 2:38 p.m. arriving at the Blake Transit Center at 2:45 p.m.; and at 3:08 p.m. arriving at 3:15 p.m.  Riders can also take bus route #26 which picks up at the AATA stop on 7th Street (near the corner of Stadium Blvd.)  Bus #26 picks up at 3:07 p.m. and arrives at the Blake Transit Center at 3:15 p.m.; the next bus is at 3:37 p.m. and arrives at 3:45 p.m. Neutral Zone is one block north and one block east of the Blake Transit Center. Cost to ride the AATA bus is $.75* for teens. Walking is always another option and great exercise!!

From Skyline High School:
Take AATA Bus Route #32 from the Skyline AATA bus stop. The most direct bus, the #32 leaves the Skyline bus stop at 2:53 p.m. and arrives at the Blake Transit Center at 3:15 p.m.  There are buses that leave at 2:44 p.m. (#32C)  and 3:02 p.m. (#32A) that will get riders to the Blake Transit Center, but go to the Park and Ride or Pauline Blvd. area first. Teens pay only $.75* to ride the bus.  Buses go to the AATA’s  BlakeTransit Center in downtown Ann Arbor.  Neutral Zone is a short walk away; one block north and one block east of the Transit Center.

From Pathways to Success Academic Campus:

Take AATA Bus Route #5 from the bus stop on the east side of Packard; across the street from the school.  Bus Route #5 stops approximately every 15 minutes near the corner of Packard and Stone School road.  The bus will take students downtown to the Blake Transit Center.  Neutral Zone is one block north and one block east of the transit center. Cost to ride the AATA bus is $.75* for teens.

 

From Ypsilanti Community High School:

To get to Neutral Zone from Ypsilanti Community High School, students would take AATA bus route #5A.  The bus picks up outside the school at the corner of Packard and Hewitt at 2:37 p.m., 3:10 p.m. and 3:40 p.m.  After a stop at Meijer on Carpenter Road, the bus takes Packard Road to Platt Road, to Ellsworth, to Stone School, back t0 Packard, and ends up at the Blake Transit Center in downtown Ann Arbor.  The trip takes approximately 40-45 minutes.  The students would then have to walk two blocks to the Neutral Zone. Cost for teens taking an AATA bus is $.75*.

From New Tech High School:

To get to Neutral Zone from New Tech, students would take AATA bus route #6.  It picks up near the corner of Ellsworth and Michigan Avenue every hour at 2o minutes after the hour.  (2:20, 3:20 and 4:20 p.m.)  After stops at Walmart and Meijer it travels along Ellsworth to Briarwood Mall.  From there it goes down S. Industrial, stops at the Michigan Union and ends up at the Blake Transit Center.  The students would then have to walk two blocks to the Neutral Zone from the transit center.  The trip takes approximately 55 minutes.   Cost for teens taking an AATA bus is $.75*.
