Youth Out: Standing Up for LGBTQ+Youth

April 18, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us Tuesday, April 18, from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.  for this fun, interactive evening to share stories, connect with young people and hear about what they are doing to build community and inclusive schools. The event is free and open to the public.

Neutral Zone’s Riot Youth, a youth-led program, is a critical resource for LGBTQ+ youth and has changed the lives of hundreds of teens.  Recently Riot Youth launched a school project to bring together a cohort of GSA & QSAs (Gay and Queer Straight Alliance student groups) across Washtenaw County. They conducted surveys to understand the LGBTQ+ school experience which they turned into key recommendations for school change. Next, they captured personal experiences of LGBTQ+ students through digital stories. Now, the teens are being trained in dialogue to lead conversations for change.ome watch the video these amazing young people have created and hear about their plans to promote safe, inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ youth.
