Youth Engagement Institute

Join us for two days of strategies, practice and ideas, learning how to start and support an effective Teen Advisory Council in your program or school.  The workshop will be held on Wednesday, July 8, and Thursday, July 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

s3 institute aug 2014Teen Advisory Councils are a meaningful way to provide youth the opportunity and structure to be a part of the decision-making and governance of their own projects and initiatives in after-school programs and in school settings.  As a result of the two-day training, participants will:

  • Identify meaningful roles youth can play in their programs
  • Learn the components and stages of Neutral Zone’s Teen Advisory Council
  • Understand youth/adult partnerships and how to support them
  • Practice strategies that effectively support youth-driven initiatives.

All participants will also receive a copy of the Teen Advisory Council Guidebook, a practical guide for starting and supporting a Teen Advisory Council.
