Dear Friends of Neutral Zone,
You’ve already done so much.
We are so grateful that our donors, volunteers and advocates launched the monumental endeavor of the Neutral Zone. Because of you, our community of people who have stood behind us for many years, we have the opportunity to show up for our youth today and in the days ahead.
I don’t need to say our teens need us now more than ever, because you already know this to be true. What I want to talk about now is our commitment to them. Last year, we finalized our new mission statement to better serve our youth:
Our Mission
Neutral Zone is a transformative, youth-driven community where youth embrace their power, ignite their creativity, and launch their future to build equity, justice, and collective liberation.
This mission is our commitment to our youth. No matter what is going on in the world, youth will find within our doors a community who provides -
NZ teens at LEAD team, a leadership workshop series
A space that is their own where they come together to find welcoming, acceptance and belonging;
Artistic programming to express their feelings and cultivate a culture that reflects their values;
Supportive transition programs creating pathways into college and career opportunities;
Leadership experiences where they embrace their power to impact all of our futures. And, we will continue to celebrate our young people. We will listen, laugh, and share joy to reinforce that we are a powerful community.
